re.al.i.ty tel.e.vi.sion (ree-AL-itee TEL-eh-vishun)
a genre of television in which real life people are followed by a camera crew
Uhhhhh?
I don't know about you but that definition sounds kinda creepy to me.^^^ This is what I'm here to say, all of you out there who watch reality tv...are Creepers, a kind of people that creeps. Peeping Toms. Watchers, Stalkers and here is why.
So when you're watching reality tv your tv is like a window into those people's lives. You see what they eat, what they do, what they talk about, what problems they have. You see the birth of their children, there marital disputes. Everything pretty much. And this TV show watching is perfectly acceptable to most. But in my opinion it is straight up creepy.
When you watch reality TV you might as well go to your neighbors house, plop down a lawn chair in front of a window looking into their house, and watch. You'd see all the things you do in a TV show. Then, people think it's creepy, but it's really the same. Watching the every move of strangers lives. And my friends, that is very creepy.
Consider these questions:
Would you ever watch a stranger give birth at your own will?
Would you pop a squat and watch intently while two married strangers argued?
Would you go out of your way to watch a strangers child turn 7?
Would have someone tape record a stranger beat her sister with a high heeled shoe so you didn't miss it?
Would you keep track of a group of strangers weight loss?
Would you watch a stranger make out with a bunch of a girls in a hot tub and vote for which one he could marry?
Now please realize, I am not saying you need to stop watching reality shows but you're just as creepy as the people who watch through windows. Just sayin'.
Love,
Autumn
